Senior Accountant / Family Office Operations Lead

Full-Time | Work from Home (Austin area-based)

We are looking for a Senior Accountant–level hire who is strong in accounting fundamentals, curious by nature, and ready to grow beyond a narrowly defined role.

Who This Role Is For

This role is ideal for someone who:

  • Has outgrown a traditional Senior Accountant position

  • Enjoys variety, ambiguity, and problem-solving

  • Has worked in environments where they wore multiple hats (startups, small teams, family offices, entrepreneurial businesses)

  • Wants to deepen their understanding of how complex financial systems actually work in real life, not just on paper

  • Has an interest in and/or exposure to private investments (PE, VC, private credit, real estate, or direct investments) and how they’re structured

  • Has an interest in and/or exposure to brokerage accounts and public securities

  • Is technically skillful and enjoys working in and troubleshooting complex, formula-driven Google Sheets. An understanding of data input. structure and what is possible with available data.

What You’ll Do

You will be a core member of Palmyra’s operations team and will work closely with our CFO and founder. Responsibilities include:

  • Owning full-cycle accounting for multiple entities across client families (transaction-level through close)

  • Managing and reconciling complex intercompany activity

  • Own Building, Improving and Maintaining clean, well-documented general ledgers and workpapers

  • Supporting month-end and year-end close processes

  • Preparing financial statements and supporting schedules

  • Assist in tax filings and tax support gathering where applicable

  • Helping implement and improve systems, workflows, and internal controls

  • Handling ad-hoc, non-standard accounting and operational tasks that don’t fit neatly into a checklist

What We’re Looking For

  • Strong grasp of accounting fundamentals (GAAP-based)

  • Experience owning full cycle accounting

  • A desire for exposure or experience in the finance side of variance analysis and forecasting

  • Comfort working across multiple entities and consolidations

  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and reliable

  • Able to think critically and independently when things aren’t clear-cut

  • Comfortable asking questions and flagging issues early

  • Curious, adaptable, and open to learning

  • Values integrity, accountability, and clarity

  • Displays sounds judgement, objectivity, and discretion


Compensation & Growth

This is a full-time role with a starting base salary in the range of $80,000–$90,000, depending on experience and fit. Benefits include excellent health insurance and the ability to work predominantly remotely.
